Being mindful of the historic identity of Columbus, the idea of my project is to design a space that activates the public realm through play, curiosity, appreciation, and engagement of pollinator species. I am interested in the interventions that provide active opportunities for the public to merge with the hope that individuals and communities can find themselves in a playful and interactive way.
The intent of my proposal is also to acknowledge and reflect the silent history hidden from this incredible architecture. In contrast to Cummins building and landscape which is white concrete and manicured lawn, the proposal is to introduce colors on the site so as to have butterflies attracted to this area and to increase their presence and visibility.
